PETALING JAYA: The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination for Form 5 students will begin on Jan 6 and end on Feb 9, 2021.

In a statement, the Education Ministry announced the new dates for the examination, which was earlier supposed to be held from Nov 16 to Dec 7, 2020. The government had previously announced the postponement of the exam due to the closing of schools due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

“This is to give students sufficient time to study and prepare for the exam.”

The new Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination dates for Semester 2 and Semester 3 students, which were scheduled for November, have also been postponed to Aug 12-18 (Semester 2) and March 1-9 (Semester 3) next year.

The Sijil Vokasional Malaysia exams scheduled for May (Session 1) and October (Session 2) this year have been moved to August 2020 and January and May 2021, respectively.

The Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia exam, which was to be held in October this year, will be held from Feb 17-25, 2021.

“As the SPM is scheduled for the first week of 2021, the ministry has taken into account the need to reorganise logistics for the exam. This, it said, includes updating details of the new school session for 2021.
