TAWAU: Warisan president Shafie Apdal has maintained that the party's candidate for the Sekong seat, Alias Sani, is not a terrorist as claimed by certain parties.

pictured, left) before fielding him as their candidate for the constituency.
“It's true that he doesn't have any case (against him). We have investigated certain things,” Shafie said when met by reporters today.
Alias had previously admitted to being detained under the Internal Security Act in 2003 for four years.
However, he explained that his detention under the now-defunct Act was only a “preventive” measure and that he was never charged nor brought to court.
