Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded eight new Covid-19 cases and a new cluster in Semporna on Thursday, said the Ministry of Health.
Two cases including a local were registered in the Benteng cluster, one Malaysian in the new cluster called the "Selamat cluster', one local screened during a hospital admission, another Malaysian during a ship sign-off screening and one local each returning from China, Pakistan and India.
The Selamat cluster now has two cases -- the index patient and their close contact, a medical officer.
An update from Sabah health authorities stated the new eight cases were in Tawau (two), Lahad Datu (one), Kota Kinabalu (four) and Semporna (one).
Sabah's cases were part of 21 new cases in the nation, with the rest in Selangor (3 cases), Sarawak (1), Kedah (7) and Penang (2).
