Kota Kinabalu: Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) this evening rubbished a claim by Warisan president Shafie Apdal that the controversy sparked by the Philippines’ claim over Sabah had been politicised during election season.

PCS president Anifah Aman (pic) said that Shafie, who is caretaker chief minister, had been “off the mark”.

Anifah said “everyone knew” the latest episode on the controversial issue had surfaced just weeks before the Sabah elections were called. The issue had been taken up not only by Shafie’s political rivals, but also by the majority of Sabahans.

“Most Sabahans thought he had actually mishandled the issue on several occasions. When the issue surfaced, the people in Sabah were worried and anxious,” said Anifah.
