TAWAU: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) candidate for Merotai, Sarifuddin Hata (pic), said the Warisan government will ensure locals who live in ungazetted villages will not be evicted without proper protection.The Kalabakan Warisan Division Chief said the government understood that many locals still had to live in squatter areas for two to four generations.
“Squatters do not receive allocations to develop villages. Therefore, we will make sure they have a new resettlement to go to before they are evicted. We do not want the villagers to be evicted just like that,” he said.
