Asher Abdul Kadir pleaded not guilty to committing the offence at the counter of the Karamunsing police station here at 5.45pm on Aug 6.

The prosecution objected bail on the grounds that Asher has six conviction records, including drugs and sexual offence and submitted that he was a threat to the society.

The court set Sept 30 for pre-trial case management (PTCM) and ordered Asher to be remanded further.

Meanwhile, a man claimed trial to having a fake MyKad.

Johan Ibrahim was accused of having the fake MyKad bearing the serial number of 860101126653 at 4.55pm on June 10.

He was charged under Section 25(1)(e) of the National Registration Regulation, which carries a jail term of up to three years or fine, upon conviction.

Afiq set Oct 1 for PTCM and offered no bail to Johan as he has no valid identification document.
