Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 38 new Covid-19 cases Sunday, bringing the tally to 1,080.The cases were detected in Tawau (27), Semporna (5), Lahad Datu (3) and Kunak (1).
The Benteng LD cluster registered 27 new cases involving 12 foreigners, whereas two cases were detected in the Selamat cluster, one in the Pulau cluster and another one in the Bakau cluster.
Two cases were detected during a health official screening and one during a pre-surgery screening at Lahad Datu Hospital, one from a Semporna community screening and another was detected during a work staff screening.
Meanwhile, five recovered Covid-19 cases were recorded in Tawau, bringing the cumulative total to 511, while fatalities remained at nine.
There are 560 active cases still warded, to date, at designated hospitals throughout Sabah.
Tawau topped the list of cumulative cases with 528, followed by Lahad Datu (220), Kota Kinabalu (81), Sandakan (39), Tuaran (32), Semporna (28), Kinabatangan (24), Kunak (24), Penampang (23), Keningau (21), Beaufort (14), Putatan (10), Kota Belud (7), Papar (6), Ranau (5), Sipitang (4), Tambunan (3), Nabawan (2) Beluran (2), Pitas (1) and Kota Marudu (1).
