Kota Kinabalu: A flood mitigation programme will be set up to rid Kapayan of perennial flood woes if Barisan Nasional (BN) wins the seat in the Sept 26 State election.Sabah MCA Chief and BN candidate Lu Yen Tung has pledged to address the flood woes and improve economic activities, including creating more job opportunities for his constituents.
“We plan to build two pump houses at Sungai Sodomon, Petagas and Sungai Sembulan, which would require a substantial amount of government funding which would otherwise be difficult to obtain under a state government which is not aligned to the Federal Government,” he said.
He said the programme would be a follow-up of what was endeavoured by previous BN leaders to solve the problem circa 2012 to 2013.
