Kota Kinabalu: The Ministry of Health announced a new Covid-19 cluster in Tongod and 49 new cases in Sabah on Monday.

The new cluster called the Quarters cluster had five new cases all involving Malaysians while the Pulau cluster had 14 new cases, Selamat cluster 12 and Benteng cluster five.

There were two positive severe acute respiratory infection or Sari cases, two symptomatic cases, two lockup detainees, two Cure and Care Rehabilitation Centre cases, one close contact, a health worker, one influenza like illness case and one pre-surgery case, all of which involving Malaysians.

There was also a hospital referral case involving a foreigner.
