Kota Kinabalu: The Ministry of Health has identified a new Covid-19 cluster in Tongod, Sandakan, making it the fifth in the State, with five cases.
The cluster, named the Quarters cluster, was identified after a community screening in the district conducted on Sept 6, following the detection of a positive Covid-19 case involving a health official on Sept 4.
All five individuals who are asymptomatic have been admitted to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the State recorded a total of 49 new Covid-19 cases Monday, bringing the tally to 1,129.
The Pulau cluster registered 14 cases involving one foreigner, whereas the Selamat cluster recorded 12.
Five cases were also detected from the Benteng LD cluster involving two foreigners.
