Kota Kinabalu: Usno expressed regret over Datuk Seri Najib Razak coming to Sabah and labelling all those Sabahans who would not vote for Barisan Nasional in the Sept. 26 state election as “palui” or stupid.

Its Sec-Gen Dr Mohd Zakaria Ilyas said Najib must have forgotten that the very reason the Barisan Nasional coalition which was formed by his premier-father Tun Razak collapsed in the 2018 general election was because of him (Najib) and his many scandals such as 1MDB, the Altantuya murder and Scorpene submarine deal. Zakaria said Najib insulted Sabahans with that remark during BN’s campaign last week. The incident was captured on video and went viral on social media, drawing  furious reactions.

“It is unbecoming of him, as a former Prime Minister, to utter such a degrading word without thinking of the implications or consequences. He looked down on Sabahan's freedom of voting,” said Zakaria in a statement.
