RANAU: Datuk Abidin Madingkir said Thursday it is time to set the record straight about the defection of him and other Upko elected representatives following the 2018 general election to Warisan Plus which caused the collapse within 48 hours of the newly-installed Sabah Barisan Nasional State Government. The incumbent Paginatan Assemblyman who is contesting in Saturday’s Sabah election under the Star banner said it was better that the truth be known now than not at all.
“I was not involved in the decision to join Warisan Plus. When the Upko leadership made the decision, I was still in Seri Gaya (with election winner Tan Sri Musa Aman waiting to go to the Istana to be sworn in). After they (Upko leadership) made the decision, I was ordered to just obey,” he said.
