LABUAN: An elderly woman was killed after being knocked down by a car while crossing the road at Jalan Bukit Kuda, near Dewan Arena Kg Bukit Kuda, here, Thursday night.

Labuan Police Chief Supt. Muhamad Farid Ahmad (pic) said the 62-year-old victim died at the scene.

“The woman was crossing the road when a Proton Wira car driven by 23-year-old man hit her...the area was dark with no street lights,” he said Friday.

Muhamad Farid said the car was travelling from the direction of Kg Layangan to Petronas Durian Tunjong, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
