Hiew secured 5,694 votes in a seven-cornered fight with Datuk Chew Kok Who (MCA – 3,215), Ha Cheun Hoo (LDP – 129), Lee Tiang Yong @ Lee Chee Ui (PPRS – 30), Loo Mun Yew (PCS – 81), Rachel Singh Chal (Usno – 306) and Kong Nyuk Thou (PBS – 235).

Meanwhile, Sekong seat was won by Alias Sani with a 1,599-vote majority after receiving 5,937 votes against Hazulizah Mohd Dani (BN – 4,338), Stti Nurul Ain Sahidah Pitting (PCS – 253), Mohd Fazil Ajak (LDP – 102), Saran Jumdail (Usno – 63) and Abidin Sukor (PPRS – 87).
