ALOR SETAR: Some 28 people in two localities in Kulim have been infected with chikungunya, said Kedah health director Dr Mohd Fikri Ujang.He said the first locality was detected at Flat Jati on Sept 2, involving 23 people so far, with the other five people infected with the disease detected last Sunday at Taman Sawi.

“All of them showed various symptoms such as fever, joint pain and rashes. The outbvreak at the flat is expected to end tomorrow and at Taman Sawi on Oct 12.
“However, we will continue to the situation at the two localities to ensure no new cases. We have also taken preventive measures and the situation is currently under control,” he told Bernama here.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
