One death, 35 new cases in Sabah
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah registered one Covid-19 death and 35 new cases on Wednesday, part of a national daily tally of two deaths and 89 cases, said the Ministry of Health.

Malaysia's 136th fatality was a 70-year-old local man with final-stage cancer, who died at his home on Sept 26 before he was taken to Tawau Hospital and tested. His positive test result arrived on Sept 29.

Most of Sabah's new cases, 18, were symptomatic local screening cases, while nine cases were in the Bangau-Bangau cluster (all Malaysians), three local close contacts of case-10273, four Malaysians in the Benteng cluster and the Tawau death case. For the first time in weeks, Sabah's local symptomatic screening cases outnumbered cluster cases today.

The other fatality happened in Kedah and for the first time in months, all states in Malaysia recorded new cases today like during the nation's initial phase of the outbreak.
