Newspapers hot items during Sabah polls

TAMPARULI: Sabah’s elections boosted newspaper sales as well as their online version as the public was hungry for political news.

This was confirmed by shops and stalls that sold newspapers and physical newspapers especially, have a robust positive effect on political participation by forming public perception and opinion, said a varsity lecturer who was contemplating contesting in 16th election, but has not resigned yet, hence requested for anonymity.

Sales of both the Daily Express and Overseas Chinese Daily news (OCDN) spiked during the election period.
