Kota Kinabalu: Sabah registered record 282 new Covid-19 cases, more than half the national daily caseload of 489 cases on Wednesday, data from the Ministry of Health showed.
A total of 183 of Sabah's cases were community screening cases, 71 symptomatic screening cases, 22 close contacts, two in the Laut cluster, two hospital admission screening cases, one hospital referral case, one pre-surgery case and one detainee.
Sabah health authorities are expected to issue a statement soon tonight on the breakdown of Sabah's cases by district.
Meanwhile, Kedah came second in the nation with 153 cases followed by Selangor with 20 cases.
The ministry announced no deaths today and two new clusters in Selangor and Perak as well as in Penang.
