Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Consumers (Sabah Chapter) urge the local authorities and operators of essential goods to designate special time for senior citizens and people with disabilities to do shopping during the CMCO period.
Its Chairman, David Chan said the measure is needed as this group of people also need to shop for their personal needs.
“We propose that grocery stores and other outlets providing essential goods to allocate the first two hours of their daily business operations for senior citizens and people with disabilities during the CMCO period,” he said.
Since elderly people are vulnerable to the life-threatening Covid-19, David said it would only be logical to allocate them specific time to shop.
The chances of them (elderly/disable) getting the virus and other any diseases is low if they do not mix with others, he added.
