Kota Kinabalu: Police have caught a local Telipok man who escaped after learning he was positive for Covid-19, the Sabah Information Department said on Twitter.

Earlier, ACP Habibi Majinji said the local man, 53, who had an address at Taman Puterajaya, Telipok, had been asked to wait at the Kota Kinabalu Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre for his transfer to a hospital after getting his positive result at the Telipok Health Clinic.

But he escaped instead, prompting the police to launch a manhunt. After his capture, the police took the man to a nearby health clinic for further action.
