Mandatory quarantine for M’sians entering S’wak

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee decided that all Malaysians entering the state from the peninsula must undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated centres, effective Oct 10.Its Chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said they are also required to undergo Covid-19 screenings on the second and tenth day of the quarantine.ADVERTISEMENT
He said they would also have to bear the cost of screenings and quarantine.
“Only the quarantine and Covid-19 screening costs for Sarawakians will be borne by the Sarawak state government,“ he said at the Covid-19 daily press conference here.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Uggah who is also the Deputy Chief Minister I said the mandatory 14-day quarantine order issued on Oct 4 did not apply to Sarawakians coming from the peninsula as they were only required to undergo the Home Surveillance and Observation Order (HSO).
Meanwhile, he said stricter monitoring would also be conducted on those who have been placed under the HSO.
