Kota Kinabalu: After maintaining a low-profile following its defeat in the Sabah polls, Warisan released a two-minute video of its president Shafie Apdal (pic) calling on supporters to not lose hope and that it is not the end of the party.

The former Chief Minister also thanked Sabahans who exercised their right in the recent state election and was grateful to all who gave their support to Warisan Plus.

“It has been an inspiration and motivation for us and the party to boost our efforts and spirit so that our hard work can go on with the aspiration of returning as your government in (the) future.

“I hope your confidence in us will remain as we continue this fight for the sake of Sabahans. “This is definitely not the end of our movement, we’ll continue this fight and we’ll boost our efforts to make sure we are united,” he said in the video.

The Senallang assemblyman also told Sabahans not to worry and to not be afraid to face challenges when fighting for their rights. He signed off with the party’s motto: “In God we trust, unite we must.”

The video comes amid the uncertain political situation in the peninsula where PKR president and opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who is an ally of Warisan, claimed that he had the support of over 120 MPs to form the government.

After being granted an audience by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, Anwar had yesterday met up with the King, where he presented the number of MPs supporting him.

Warisan Plus recently lost in the closely-fought Sabah polls where it garnered 32 seats against the 38 obtained by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, which comprises Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and PBS.
