14-tonne equipment flown for Tawau field hospital

Kota Kinabalu: The military has flown 14 tonnes of medical equipment for its field hospital being erected in Tawau to augment efforts in combating Covid-19, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The air force Airbus 400 flight also transported equipment from the Health Ministry and humanitarian NGO Mercy Malaysia such as personal protective equipment, isolation gowns, facemasks and Tyvek suits to Kota Kinabalu for use by medical centres in Sabah.
ADVERTISEMENT The field hospital is expected to be operational next week, said Ismail Sabri, adding a C130H transport plane from the air force’s 20th Squadron based in Subang was also mobilised this morning to transport the ministry’s equipment to Sabah.
