Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) has closed four more of its offices, effective Sunday (Oct 18), to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
Its Director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin, in a statement Monday, said the closure involved its offices in Kudat, Ranau, Beaufort and Tambunan.
He said previously, the department had closed its offices in 16 districts declared as Covid-19 red zones, starting with Tawau on Sept 29.
Khairrul Aminus said the offices would be closed until a date to be announced later.
On Sunday, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sabah was still the State with the highest number of new Covid-19 cases, reporting 702 cases or 80.6 per cent of the 871 cases reported in Malaysia.
