BELURAN: A block of workers’ quarters in Reka Halus Estate in Beluran was destroyed in an early Tuesday fire but no casualty was reported. Beluran Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Rastam Keladi, said a team of 11 firefighters in two fire engines and one utility vehicle were dispatched to the scene when a distressed call was received at 11.19am by Sabah Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Room via the emergency line 999.He said they managed to contain the fire at 12.04pm and prevented it from spreading, before it was fully extinguished by 1.13pm. The actual cause and estimated losses are still under investigations, he said.
