Kota Kinabalu: The blood supply in hospitals in the State has reached a critical level, said Sabah Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) deputy blood chairman, Leslie Chan.Chan said, since September, Sabah has recorded a spike of Covid-19 cases as well as new clusters in several districts.
“Following the second wave of Covid-19 outbreak in Sabah, the blood supply in hospitals throughout the State has reached a critical level,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
“Currently, the blood bank units of Queen Elizabeth I, Kudat and Tuaran Hospitals had to be temporarily closed as some of the hospital staff are suspected to be Covid-19 positive.
