Kuala Lumpur: The extension of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Sabah also covers Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna – areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).In a statement, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the state-wide CMCO, which was previously scheduled to end tomorrow (Oct 26) has been extended to Nov 9.ADVERTISEMENT
Meanwhile, he said police arrested 688 people nationwide yesterday for violating standard operating procedures (SOP) under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
“Of the total, 678 were slapped with compounds, while 10 were remanded.
“Offences include failure to wear face masks (211), activities that deter physical distancing (213), failure to provide registration facilities at premises (136), unapproved interstate and inter-district travel (37) and others (91).”
He said the SOP compliance taskforce held inspections nationwide at 3,360 supermarkets, 4,700 restaurants, 1,307 stalls, 1,149 factories, 3,354 banks and 747 government offices.ADVERTISEMENT
On the ongoing Ops Benteng to curb the entry of illegal immigrants at the country’s borders, Ismail Sabri said 10 undocumented immigrants were arrested and five vehicles seized.
In addition, he said since March 30, the Housing and Local Government Ministry has carried out 10,751 sanitisation operations nationwide at 136 zones.

“Yesterday, 33 sanitisations were held at five red zones, 10 yellow zones, and three green zones.
“The operations were done in Sarawak (eight), Melaka (six), Penang and Kuala Lumpur (four), Sabah (three), Perak (two), Terengganu (two), and one each in Negri Sembilan, Johor, Perlis and Labuan. On quarantine measures, Ismail Sabri said 54,312 Malaysians returned from abroad between July 24 and yesterday (Saturday).

The returnees arrived from 35 countries.
