Latest cluster among Kudat fishermen; record-Sabah cases
Kota Kinabalu: A Kudat fishermen’s community became the latest Covid-19 cluster in Sabah which saw seven deaths and record-927 daily cases as the nation registered a new high of 1,240 new patients on Monday.

The cluster named Kapor found at Kampung Tanjung Kapor had 30 new cases, raising its total to 46 active cases with 81 test results pending, said the Ministry of Health.

A total of 511 new Sabah cases were recorded in clusters including Kapor, 280 close contacts and 136 other screening cases.

Sabah’s largest cluster, Kepayan prison, contributed most (439) of the state’s new cases and raised the grouping’s own total of cases to 1,662, out of 3,405 people screened so far.

The other clusters that had new cases were Benteng LD in five districts (7 new cases), Mesra in Sandakan (6), Keningau’s Titir (5), Ramai-Ramai in Sandakan (4), Megah in Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu (4), Lahad Datu’s Teduh (4), Tanamera in Tawau (3), Tinusa in Sandakan (2), Sandakan’s Jambul (2), Bah Manggis in Tawau and two peninsular states (1), Inai in Kudat (1), Surat in Sandakan (1), Basung in Kudat (1), Kota Belud’s Kertang (1) and Kolong in Keningau (1).

The ministry has been reporting no new cases in a cluster called Sauh involving a floating Petronas liquefied natural gas facility since Oct 24.

Five men and two women aged between 27 and 90 died at hospitals in Kota Kinabalu (three deaths), Sandakan (two), Tawau and Tuaran.

A total 517 more patients recovered in Sabah out of a nationwide latest total of 691.
