TAWAU: The body of a fully clothed male was found in an oil palm plantation in Burut, near Merotai, on Monday.

District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas in a brief statement confirmed receiving a report. He said investigations are under way to identify the cause of death.

“The body has been taken to Tawau Hospital for an autopsy,” he said.

 Earlier, the process of removing the victim’s body from the area was completed by a team suited in Personal Protective Clothing (PPE) in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).
