More military field hospitals if need arises: Masidi

Kota Kinabalu: The government will consider opening more military field hospitals in districts other than Tawau to augment efforts to fight Covid-19 if a need arises, said Datuk Masidi Manjun.

The Sabah government spokesman for the crisis, however, said there is no plan currently to do so following the opening of one at the Tawau Sport Complex (pictured) last week.

A total of 142 patients had been treated at the field hospital and 28 currently under treatment with 30 percent of the hospital’s beds occupied on average daily, said Masidi in a statement.
