Kota Kinabalu: The case of a 29-year-old woman charged with committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving a sum of RM664,870, will be re-mentioned on Nov 25.
Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus set the date for Noor Rawiada Mohamad Salleh in view of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), pending instructions from Sabah Federal Counsel on the plea bargaining application by Noor Rawiada.
The CMCO was implemented in the State since Oct 8 this year to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Noor Rawiada is accused of breaching the trust given to her as assistant clerk at the Wisma Perindustrian premises here between April 3 and Dec 20, 2019.
Noor Rawiada, who was entrusted to handle a RHB Bank account belonging to the company, allegedly transferred the money by conducting 48 online transfers to her RHB account for personal use.
The charge, under Section 408 of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of between a year and 14 years and whipping or fine on conviction.
Noor Rawiada was on a bail of RM15,000 with two local sureties.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Megat Mahathir Megat Tharih Affendy appeared for the prosecution while counsel Farazwin Haxdy represented Noor Rawiada.
