Kota Kinabalu: Many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Malaysia and elsewhere abroad including “Kababayan” (countrymen) back home were outraged over the reported “mistreating” of a Filipina helper by her own ambassador in Brazil.In unison, angry OFWs urged the Duterte government to impose the fullest penalty to Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Marichu Mauro if found guilty beyond reasonable doubts of the allege crime committed.
Millions of Filipinos work abroad and the money they send home spurs the local economy where many still live in deep poverty despite the country’s robust growth in recent years.
