Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Islamic Affairs Department (Jheains) took the initiative to launch “Jheains Prihatin” programme to help people who are severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic including the non-Muslims.

Special Tasks Minister Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said a total of 36 districts would be getting at least RM10,000 each. The task will be delegated to Jheains Religious Administrative Officer to carry out the programme and aid distribution.

He said the RM400,000 for the programme was initially allocated to organise Islamic activities including Maulidur Rasul Celebration at district-level, but due to the current situation, Jheains decided to utilise the funds to help those in Sabah, including non-Muslims, who are affected by the Covid-19.
