Lucky escape for eight house occupants

BEAUFORT: A single mother and two widows were almost killed when trees fell on their houses at Kg Karangan due to strong wind on Tuesday.

Haslinda Buang, 31, and her two children said they were shocked when the incident happened at 8pm.

Among the houses that were hit by the trees was a widow Mini Bte Dais, 65, who lived with her two children while another house was occupied by Saidah Omar, 78, and her grandson.

“The wind was so terrifying until I heard a very alarming sound which prompted me to go out and saw that trees fell and damaged my house.

“Fortunately, no one was injured and we will try to help the victims involved and I hope they would be patient,” he said.
