Kota Kinabalu: A property developer of a mixed development project, The Logg, has come forward to clarify that to-date, none of their construction workers in Lintas tested positive.

K.T.I issued a statement following the inaccurate comment in the media relating to the announcement of the new Lintas Cluster.

Construction of The Logg, comprising residential towers, shopping mall and hotel by K.T.I. in Lintas, is being carried out according to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Government for businesses to operate safely.

The SOPs are taken seriously by the developer to safeguard the wellbeing of its staff, onsite workers and the community at large and this has not been compromised in any way.

“Taking a step further, its site workers are subjected to periodical Covid-19 testing and despite allegations to the contrary, none of their workers had tested positive.

“Even their Ad hoc contractors who have done other construction works on-site have also reported no positive cases,” the developer said in a statement on Friday.

Apart from that, stringent protocols have been put in place to ensure work is carried out in accordance to mandatory SOPs.

These include a 50 per cent reduction in construction workforce with temperature checks and sanitation carried out daily and meals delivered onsite during working hours to minimise contact with outsiders who are currently not allowed to enter the premises.

There is no stop-work order issued by the authority to initiate any screening procedures, it said.

K.T.I. has full confidence in the Ministry of Health and its targeted approach to deal with the spread of Covid-19 and is determined not to undermine the hard work of frontliners in combating the pandemic.

Its long-standing record of trustworthiness in delivering on its promises will hold it in good stead in these difficult times and completion of the project will be a testament to this.
