Perennial Wisma Pertanian lift woe to be resolved

Kota Kinabalu: The perennial lift problem in Wisma Pertanian Sabah will be resolved soon thanks to the swift actions taken by the Works Ministry.

Assistant Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Datuk James Ratib (pic) said the repair works of the lift in the premise is expected to be completed this December.

“I commended the quick actions taken by Works Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and his Assistant Minister Datuk Limus Jury in ensuring the problem can be resolved immediately,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.

“I highlighted this issue as soon as I entered the building as Assistant Minister, and a few days after that, the Work Ministry had responded quickly to it.”

Previously, James said the lift problem had been happening for more than seven years and had requested the Public Works Department to solve the problem in a month’s time.

He said, once repaired, some 400-500 Ministry staff and the public would no longer have to use the stairs in the eight-floor building.
