M’sia urged to reopen borders for travel

Kota Kinabalu: The message for the governments of Malaysia and other fellow Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) member countries to recover economically is to reopen borders for safe travel.

“Quarantine is not the answer, but speedy testing to control Covid-19 is.”

This was expressed by Google’s Hermione Joye (Industry Head, Apac, Travel, Google) who moderated an inaugural virtual tourism forum together with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Tourism Working Group and the National Centre for Apec themed “Travel Reimagined: an Apec and Airbnb Tourism Forum”, jointly organised by Airbnb on Tuesday.
