Cannabis case re-mention Dec 2

Kota Kinabalu: The case of a 24-year-old man charged with having and planting cannabis, will be re-mentioned on Dec 2 this year.

Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus set the date for Nicklen Jaccqres, in view of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Nicklen is accused of having and planting one cannabis tree at 2.40pm on Aug 19 this year at a room of a house in Kg Bahang, Jalan Hungab, Penampang.

The offence under Section 6B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 6B(3) of the same Act which provides for a life imprisonment, and whipping at least six strokes of the cane, on conviction.

No plea was taken from Nicklen.

Pending the date, Nicklen was ordered remanded further.

In another case, the court set Nov 16 for further e-review of the case that involved a 32-year-old man charged with committing sexual offence against his step-daughter.

The date was fixed for the man pending the status of the representation letter.

The man is accused of committing the offence by inserting his finger into the 16-year-old private part at 11pm on Jan 26 this year at a house in a village in Penampang.
