Labuan UTC temporarily closed after vendors tested positive

LABUAN: Pasar Sentral Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here has been ordered to close from today until Friday after more than 10 vendors tested positive for COVID-19.

Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said the positive cases were among the more than 400 vendors at the wet/dry market and kiosks who were tested on Sunday.

“We issued the notice of closure today. We will take over the sanitation works on the affected areas in the busiest spot of UTC Pasar Sentral,” he said.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Labuan had surged to 673 as at yesterday, from only 28 on Sept 28.
