KENINGAU: A six-year-old boy and his four-year-old sister went missing while their father survived after a pickup truck (pictured) they were in was swept away while travelling on a flooded river crossing in Kampung Dangulad early today.

District Police Chief DSP Shahrudin Mat Husain, when contacted, said the driver managed to save himself, but his two children who were still in the vehicle were swept away by the strong current due to the sudden rise of Liawan River following a downpour.

"The vehicle was found about 100 metres from the river crossing, but the two children were missing. Search-and-rescue efforts are still ongoing," he said.
