Labuan cops foil liquor smuggling attempt

LABUAN: A 32-year-old man was detained by Marine Police for attempting to smuggle alcoholic beverages worth RM9,200 including taxes, Tuesday.

The man who was the skipper of the boat was caught moving fast from Labuan to Menumbok during a patrol conducted by a Marine police team at 10.30am.

Acting Commanding Officer of the Labuan Marine Police Force (PPM) Operations Headquarters, Insp. Shafiq Rezza Rahim said inspection found a number of Guinness Stout, Royal Stout and Anchor brand liquor believed smuggled out of Labuan.
