Kota Kinabalu: A total of 527 families, including disabled, single parents, elderly and the sick, received food aid from the Kapayan Food Bank this week while another 350 families of the Kepayan Prison staff living at the Matambai staff quarters also received such aid on Sunday. The Kapayan Food Bank was established by Kapayan Assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang in April when the Movement Controlled Order was implemented to assist those who needed food aid on a sustained manner.
Janie said so many people are crying out for help and her efforts to request the government to provide aid to those in dire need seem to fall on deaf ears.
