BEAUFORT: The District Fire and Rescue Department is preparing to face the Northeast monsoon forecast by carrying out rescue boat handling exercises.
Its Chief Mohammad Hasbollah Nenggok said it is in preparation of the forecast which is expected to occur any time until March next year.
“Beaufort is synonymous with the flood problem, so we conducted this exercise to improve the efficiency of the personnel as well as be prepared with all the rescue logistics.
“As we know that Northeast Monsoon will bring more rain and water will overflow from the Padas River,” said Mohammad. Apart from that, the Fire and Rescue Department also conducted special rescue exercises in the rivers and sea.
Mohamad said the exercise was in line with the instructions that required all fire and rescue stations throughout the country to hold such training.
