BELURAN: Thirteen people including children, believed to be illegal immigrants, were detained from a lorry heading towards a plantation area, here, on Wednesday.The lorry’s 40-year-old local driver was also arrested by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) for allegedly trying to smuggle the group.
Esscom Commander Datuk Ahmad Fuad Othman said the suspect was carrying the immigrants along the Kota Kinabalu-Beluran route when they were nabbed at 8.40pm.
