Kota Kinabalu: The highly anticipated and long overdue Pan Borneo Highway project in Sabah is only 20 per cent completed, participants of a webinar on “Malaysia Budget 2021: Market and Sectoral Outlook” were told.

According to analysts, the good news comprises opportunities that are available for contractors constructing the remaining 80 per cent of the highway as it will boost the State and national economy as infrastructural projects are expected to have an economic multiplier effect that will trickle down benefits to the people.

The Pan Borneo Highway project is the only major infrastructural project in East Malaysia as all other mega projects are located in Peninsular Malaysia.
