MP: MoE must do more to help poor students
SANDAKAN: The Ministry of Education must do more to assist students from lower income families so that they will not fall behind their peers because of school closure due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Sandakan Member of Parliament, Vivian Wong (pic), said this in response to the written reply in the Dewan Rakyat by the Minister of Education on what steps that are being taken to help those without computers at home as classes are mostly done online during the CMCO.

The Minister stated that a survey conducted by the Ministry between Mar 28 and Apr 2 earlier this year, involving some 670,118 parents in the country showed that 36.9pc of the students are not equipped to attend online classes in the event that schools are closed down.
