136,055 known Filipinos in Sabah in 2016: Minister

Kota Kinabalu: Some 136,055 migrants from the Philippines had been recorded in Sabah as of 2016, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof (pic).

He said the figures were compiled based on cross-checks by the Sabah National Security Council (NSC), State Immigration Department and the Chief Minister’s Department.

“The Government has classified the migrants into three categories – IMM13 holders (51,645 individuals), Sabah/Labuan Federal Special Taskforce’s Census Certificate holders who are without IMM13 (47,518) and Sijil Burung-Burung holders without IMM13 (36,892),” he said in a written reply to a question from Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau at the Dewan Rakyat, Wednesday.
