“Donating blood saves lives, especially those who really need it, like those who are involved in accidents,” he said after visiting a blood drive organised by Weston Health Clinic and Beaufort Hospital’s blood bank, at Seri Dayang Hall, Beaufort, recently. Noting that some are still afraid to donate blood, the community should be aware that there is nothing to be scared of.ADVERTISEMENT
On Saturday’s programme, he welcomed it as the Beaufort Hospital’s blood bank is experiencing a shortage of blood supply. “I was to understand that the blood bank needs at least 100 pints of blood a month.” Nearly 70 pints of blood were collected during the programme where donors were also given food items. Apart from that, the programme also offered free health screenings for the people. Also present was Beaufort Health Officer Dr Natazczah Abd Rahim.
