SANDAKAN: Marine police here seized three tug boats and 400kg of sea catch of various types and sizes in the Pamaguan sea area here on Tuesday.Commanding Officer of the Sandakan Region 4 Marine Police Force, DSP Rusdin Banin, said the marine team conducting the “Ops Benteng” Covid-19 detained the vessel around 9am to 12pm while they were fishing (pic).
“Further examination found that the tugboat had committed an offence under the Fisheries Act 1985, Section 8 (b) which violated the licence conditions for towing less than three nautical miles from the coast.
