Covid-19: No deaths, 1,141 new cases nationwide, 320 in Sabah

PUTRAJAYA: The health ministry has reported 1,141 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,144 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 59,061.
ADVERTISEMENT In a press conference, Noor Hisham said the 1,141 cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 70,236.
The death toll remains at 376.
There are currently 10,799 active cases, with 129 patients receiving intensive care, of which 53 require respiratory assistance.
Out of the 1,141 cases today, only three were imported cases.
ADVERTISEMENT Selangor and Sabah each recorded 320 cases today. They were followed by Kuala Lumpur (256), Johor (69) and Penang (48).
Other states and federal territories with new cases reported today were Perak (47), Kedah (24), Kelantan (20), Negeri Sembilan (15), Pahang (15), Labuan (three) and Putrajaya (two).

Sarawak and Perlis each recorded one case today, while there were no new cases in Melaka and Terengganu.

Noor Hisham said most of the new cases in Sabah were from close contact tracing (184) while existing clusters contributed the most number of new cases in Selangor (155).
Of today’s cases, 32 came from clusters in temporary detention centres and prisons, namely the Tembok cluster (18 cases), Jalan Harapan prison cluster (six), Bakti cluster (four), PTS Sibuga cluster (three) and the Penang Remand Prison (one).
